Summary

PaidFast helps tradies send automated messages (including SMS) about invoices and payments. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how SMS fits in — including where you (a tradie using PaidFast) agree to messages from us, and how messages to your clients work.

Who we are

PaidFast is operated by Two and a Half Studio / PaidFast (“we”, “us”). The website and service connect tradies to tools that schedule and send payment reminders and related notifications.

Information we collect

  • Tradie account details — for example name, business name, mobile number, email, and payment-related preferences you provide when signing up or using the service.
  • Invoice and client data — information you or your systems submit about jobs and clients (including client name and mobile number) so we can send the reminders you configure.
  • Technical data — standard logs and metadata needed to run the service securely (e.g. timestamps, delivery status for messages).

SMS communications — purpose

Text messages sent through PaidFast are used for transactional, service, and payment-related purposes, including:

  • To tradies (you) — onboarding and account messages, daily summaries of overdue invoices, and other notices needed to operate your subscription and the product.
  • To your clients — reminders and actions linked to specific invoices (for example payment links, “mark as paid”, or snooze), in line with the invoice details you have entered.

The purpose of each message should be clear from the text (e.g. invoice reminder, link to pay, service notification). We do not use SMS for unrelated marketing on behalf of third parties.

Where tradies agree to receive SMS from PaidFast

When you create a PaidFast account, you provide your mobile number and confirm that you agree to this Privacy Policy. That is the point at which you consent to service-related SMS from us — including texts such as your invoice form link, daily summaries, and other operational messages described above.

You can reduce or stop some notifications by adjusting how you use the product or by contacting us; certain messages may still be required to maintain your account or meet legal obligations.

SMS to your clients — whose responsibility is consent?

Reminders to your clients are sent on your behalf, using contact details you supply in connection with the work and invoice. Under laws that apply in New Zealand (including the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 and privacy law), you are generally responsible for ensuring you have a proper basis to contact your clients — for example consent, an existing business relationship, or another lawful ground — and for explaining to clients how you use their details.

PaidFast provides the software and delivery channel; we do not replace your obligation to collect numbers fairly, respect opt-outs, and comply with your own professional and legal duties toward your customers.

If you are unsure what consent or notices you need from clients, you should take independent legal or professional advice.

Recipients’ choices

Messages to clients typically include clear actions (such as links to pay, mark paid, or snooze). Clients may also stop or limit contact by following instructions in the message or by dealing directly with you as their tradie.

Retention and security

We retain and protect information only as needed to provide the service, comply with law, and resolve disputes. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures for a product of this kind.
